I am French and I think that Daley Thompson is one of the greatest sportsman of modern times. Decathlon is the ultimate Olympic event (BMX bicycle and tennis??) but, sadly, gets very little TV coverage nowadays as it is spread over too many days and events. He aslo seemed to have quite a outspoken personality which sets him apart from the poster boys we have nowadays who can't utter a word unless their publicists and agents give their approval. Also, the mustache is very, very cool.
