The updates service pack 1, or FSX Acceleration allows the use of more than 1 cpu core. This helps alot if you have a dual or quad-core system.

My computer specs : Silverstone TJ-09 case, silverstone 1000da power supply, DFI LT X48 T2R motherboard, Intel e8500 cpu (3.16ghz)w/ Zalman 9500 cpu cooler, 4 gb Corsair Dominator ram, Creative Labs Fatality sound card (important to this game I found out), Evga 280 Gtx video card, and dual-boot XP & Vista. I run everything cranked up except for scenery auto-generator, and that is set to medium. I have a Samsung 25.5" monitor, and running everything at 1900*1200. Crysis still plays better thanFSX

I can run it on all max except traffic with default planes and get 25+, but my favourite plane gets 12-20... I think they could have done better, but I am satisfied. I am on my second video card and this one is very good, my first one I just bought because the great deal they had on it, it was alright. I may buy a new processor because that is what is holding me back, oh well, I am happy!

I think they should create the standard version which should have normal computer specs and memory and a deluxe one but for high tech computers. i hate fsx cuz the graphics and lag for my computer, which is why i play fs2004

yes. this does make me mad. i had bought fsx for a xp and it lagged soooo bad. i just got so mad because of this. i had 1 gb of ram and a 120 gb hardrive with like 10gb used. this was about 2 years ago. then i had to wait 2 years and finnaly got a descent laptop for christmas and fsx looks descent. it has 4gb of ram-250gb hardrive and it still lags and looks only descent. i hope that microsoft make a great looking game for not to much and dosent require so much out of you're computer.LUV UR VIDS

Dude!!. Cessna. Man you don't know how much I appreciate you doing this. This is what we need. We need to get this into MS's head. FSX is just poorly made like I've said in the past. Its Code Base is severely outdated and if they don't rewrite the Code for FS11 this franchise is going down the drain because the consumers won't be able to play it.

You get better frames on Crysis? Woah...now that's a problem. How much do you tweak your settings? I have a Dell XPS 410 with an 8600 and I can run FSX on a combination of High and Ultra High settings with frames between 20 and 40 (depends a lot on the area). What processor and how much RAM do you have?

PT. 1 I'm very glad you made this video. I have 2 Computers. Dell XPS Laptop M1530 and a Dell Dimension E52o Desktop. The Desktop has EVGA 8500 and the laptop has an 8600. BOTH SUCK! Ive tired every setting ever. I lag, the airplanes and scenery look like they were drawn on toilet paper, THIS IS RIDICULOUS. So what's wrong microsoft? [2nd part] I think people also need to realize that MS wasn't really targeting the "average consumer." It's like saying you want a PS3 that costs under $100. For the past 30 years the FS series has been known for pushing the limits of the day's technology, and that's what makes it so great. However, coincidentally like Sony, they took a huge leap between their last two releases (FS2004/FSX and PS2/PS3). The thing is FSX is not your average game (if a "game" at all).

What's happening here is that since FSX there has been an increasing amount "average consumers" getting into the FS series (like Cessna said there's NOTHING wrong with that). On top of that, Microsoft probably raised the bar TOO high with FSX. It's been more than 2 years and I still don't think it's possible to max out every single little setting. (which actually isn't uncommon for high-end games to do these days). Although this might be somewhat of a flaw...[continued]
